Plywood, red pine, porcelain, black acrylic and clear Perspex.

Glasgow, June 2017

A work which reflects platonic views of beauty, symmetry and balance. The materials hold conceptual meanings such as honesty, connectivity and strength. Each physical element is composed in a way to create momentum and heaviness.  The direct relationship between the sphere and tetrahedron pyramid is intense, they are internally joined. The sphere, dense in black and overbearing in scale, forces the viewer to look at themselves with a highly reflective surface. The pyramid, translucent and discreet, sits underneath the sphere preventing it from rolling away.

This piece hints towards the internal battle between struggle and triumph.
