3m x 2.5m

Plywood, pine, porcelain, black acrylic and clear Perspex.

A work which reflects platonic views of tension, symmetry and balance. Each material holds unique conceptual meaning. The sphere, dense in black and overbearing in scale, forces the viewer to look at themselves with a highly reflective surface. The pyramid, translucent small and discreet, sits underneath the sphere preventing it from rolling away. The relationship between each form hints at the struggle of managing mental illness. Each physical element is composed in a way to create momentum, heaviness and unquestionable strength.  The tetrahedron pyramid being the strongest form on earth presents itself transparent, honest. This installation invites the viewer to step onto it and closley experience the point of collision. The direct relationship between the sphere and tetrahedron pyramid is intense yet perfectly balanced.

This piece hints towards the internal battle of day to day life with mental illness.  -  Tontine, Trongate, Glasgow 2017
