'E C U M E N I C A L  B A L A N C E  II'

Kibble Palace, Botanic Gardens, Feb 2017

The form of an equilateral triangle is present everywhere, from physical structures; whether that be natural or manmade, to molecular shapes. There are twelve identical steel flat bars here welded at a 60 degree angles to form four separate equilateral triangles. Each is then mounted and secured at random to create the sculpture. This work looks at the conceptual relationship between order and chaos. Accuracies in the four shapes such as balance and strength are derived from natural plant forms. Presented in surroundings of the Kibble Palace, this work looks to reflect the perfect design of nature and its attempt to survive in a unstable man made environment.
